Side-by-side, you can see that Agreeable Gray has much more gray in it than Accessible Beige (a hint reflected in the names of both paint colors.) Agreeable Gray has a bit more of a purplish undertone when they are side-by-sie, and Accessible Beige is more taupey. Below you can see what a fantastic color palette Accessible Beige and Agreeable Gray make–they are a very similar duo that look good together and while seemingly very similar, are actually quite different. ![]() These are the most popular greige paint colors, so it is good to see how they look together! Now, let’s see how Accessible Beige stacks up to similarly popular Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore paint colors. The beige undertones make it warm, and the gray undertones make it feel updated and sophisticated–the perfect combination! SHERWIN-WILLIAMS ACCESSIBLE BEIGE COMPARED It’s a nice blend of the two and is a fantastic color for any room in your house. It has far too much gray, in my opinion, to be considered a true beige, and too much beige to be considered a true gray color. YES! Accessible Beige is a greige–a mix between gray and beige. It will show you what the true undertones are. To find the undertones of any paint chip, look at the most concentrated/ saturated tones on the same paint chip. You can see above that Accessible Beige has a lot of brown in it. The easiest way to find the undertones of a paint (those little tones you get from paint when you look at it) is to look at a paint chip. A LRV of 60-70 is ideal in my opinion (I like airy colors.) For example, Balboa Mist has a LRV of 67. So a LRV of 58 is pretty good but is a darker neutral. What does LRV mean? LRV means Light Reflectance Value (basically how much light a paint color reflects off the wall.) The higher the LRV, the lighter the color. SW Accessible Beige has a LRV of 58–which means that it is a slightly darker neutral. By looking at its undertones, it is easier to understand whether it will be good in your home, and is a key component of picking the right paint color the first time! Because hey, let’s be honest! No one likes having to repaint a room! Let’s break down what makes SW 7036 Beige so good looking, and take a look at its undertones, LRV (light reflective value), and its intensity. ![]() Unlike the popular beige paint colors of the mid-nineties and early 200s, Accessible Beige is a sophisticated and versatile paint color that is an updated version of the dreaded “builder beige” so many of detest! It is a sophisticated paint color that works well in a variety of house styles, and it looks particularly good with Repose Gray and Agreeable Gray. It has saved me hours of work and I wish I bought it sooner! Seriously! So many disagreements with my husband over painting would have been avoided! ✅ This specific painting tool is the top seller with our readers!
